Tomorrow X Together Breaks Out Of A Tie With NCT 127 And Blackpink Thanks To Their New Album
Tomorrow X Together is back on the current Billboard 200 with their latest full-length The Chaos Chapter: Freeze, which sits at No. 5 on the list. The title is now their highest-charting yet, and its impressive starting point makes the group one of only a handful from their home country of South Korea to lift into the top 10.
The beloved vocal act makes history in a number of ways by breaking into the top 10 on the Billboard 200, but even if their new set hadn’t managed to find space between Nos. 1 and 10, it still would have landed a momentous showing for the group, especially when looking solely at other acts from South Korea.
The Chaos Chapter: Freeze is Tomorrow X Together’s fourth project to hit the Billboard 200, and with one more placement to their credit, the boy band has become just the third act of any kind from South Korea to hit the all-genre, all-language ranking with a quartet of titles.
Tomorrow X Together first appeared on the Billboard 200 in early 2019 with their EP The Dream Chapter: Star, which peaked at No. 140. Last year, they jumped up the roster with Minisode1: Blue Hour, which peaked at No. 25. Earlier in 2021, Still Dreaming only managed to lift as high as No. 173, and now they’ve scored their biggest win yet on the chart.
Among South Korean musical acts, BTS have thus far claimed the most Billboard 200 placements, as they have now seen a lucky 13 titles appear somewhere on the ranking. Included in that sum are a quintet of leaders.
Tomorrow X Together are now on the same level as fellow South Korean all-male vocal act EXO, who has now also reached the tally with four full-lengths.
Before this week, Tomorrow X Together was on the same level as several other South Korean groups, all of whom are steady with three appearances on the Billboard 200. NCT 127, G-Dragon and Blackpink have all sent a trio of projects to the chart, and at least NCT 127 and Blackpink are likely going to hit the roster again whenever they have something new to share, as they remain active and incredibly popular.
